Getting Fit with Young Living - NingXia Red Style!

I had our youngest child nearly 15 months ago. A lot of weight dropped off over the months following her birth like it usually does, and then when my milk supply unexpectedly dried up in December following a very emotional and physically distressing time, a few more pounds left... like it usually does for me. That left me just a little over my pre-pregnancy weight for that pregnancy. Many, many pounds from my before-children weight, and even more many pounds away from my preferred weight.

I started my journey to a healthier lifestyle after the birth of our first, whom is now 5, but regularly exercising never came back into my routine. I am not a fan of exercising, at least not any form that I have found yet, so it's easy to ignore it. However, any time I actually DO it, I am always pleased with the results and feel a sense of accomplishment.

I have long admired Myra (part of my Young Living support team, and one of the people that got me started with Young Living) and her journey to a healthier lifestyle. The girl does Crossfit... and is still doing it 24 weeks pregnant! What's not to admire?!

I have been wanting to get more physically fit for a while, and more recently have been "deciding" to do the 30 Day Shred as my jumping off point. I just hadn't actually... you know... started yet. I'm rather chicken when it comes to working out! Well, I decided enough was enough with the lollygagging and I was just going to DO IT.

I decided to work out first thing in the mornings, even before breakfast. That meant that I really needed to drink something before... but water on my empty, morning stomach is rarely a good thing. Since I love the taste AND benefits of Young Living's antioxidant-packed NingXia Red, I decided to pair 1 ounce of NingXia Red with 1 sachet of NingXia Nitro (which is GREAT for cognitive fitness!). I pour those into a glass, add a drop of Young Living's Grapefruit essential oil and top it all off with an equal amount of water. It's a delicious, healthy start to my day!

Then I add a drop of Young Living's Valor to my wrists. Truth be told, I don't looking forward to getting all hot and sweaty and sore! Valor is a combination of oils that work with both the physical and spiritual aspects of the body to increase feelings of strength, courage, and self-esteem in the face of adversity. It is perfect for preparing to work out!

I am 4 days into this new routine and am actually enjoying it! I am also feeling great all day long every day, which is really nice. :)  I am looking forward to the changes these new routines will bring about.

These are not the only Young Living essential oils or products I use and love; I will be sharing more with you in the days ahead!

Joyfully,
Miriam

For the Love of Thieves

If I had to pick a "top 10" list of favorite essential oils, the Thieves blend would definitely make the cut. It is such a good oil blend to have on hand! A must-have for every household, dorm-room, office, back-pack and purse.

We use this blend a lot. Especially in the winter when our immune systems tend to need extra support, when we want to take especially good care of our bodies to keep them healthy and well.  If you were a fly on the wall of our house you would know that I'm regularly telling the girls to "stick their feet up!" so I can rub drop of Thieves on the bottoms of their feet.  Or I'll put a few drops in a diffuser and let it go to work in the air where we can breathe it and get it's benefits that way.  If we've been around a crowd of people (hello grocery stores and church on Sundays and Wednesdays!) and I think some Thieves would be a really good idea, we all get some. If I'm starting to feel a little off, I put a few drops in a vegetable capsule with a little carrier oil and swallow it down.  Thieves is great for helping your immune system have some extra punch for whatever comes it's way.

When it's cold I love a mug of hot cider with a drop of Thieves stirred in. Not only does it taste yummy (fastest way to make spiced cider, anyone?!) but it's another way to support my immune system. Even the girls love to drink this! You can even make "Thieves Tea" with a mug of hot water, a little honey, a drop of Young Living's Lemon Essential Oil and then add a drop or two of Thieves.

I am so glad to have this 100% Pure, Therapeutic Grade Essential Oil Blend available to use on my entire family. It is one I will never be without. If you would like to have some too, it comes in the Premium Starter Kit from Young Living.

Young Living also offers an entire line of Thieves products for everything from caring for our bodies to caring for our homes!! I have and use many of their Thieves products and love each one (and can't wait to have each of their Thieves items!). They even offer a Thieves Premium Starter Kit if you want to start with just Thieves products!

Liquid Sunshine

On these winter days when the sun doesn't shine as much, or the gray winter weather comes around and stays for a few days, I love these oils! Frankincense and Ylang Ylang are my favorites of this trio (my MIL loves Joy the best). I use Frankincense almost daily and while the results are subtle over several days, I really notice a difference when I have skipped too many days!!

I started using Frankincense on my face daily this summer (after our third baby was born) and I felt so amazing!! I didn't realize it was the Frankincense until I forgot and got out of routine for about a week.  The day-to-day didn't feel quite as grand and it took me a few days to figure out what the difference was. I had a few-month-old, a newly potty trained 2 year old and a very busy 4 year old. Lots of times I would have 3 little people each needing me in a major way RIGHT NOW and ... wow. I made sure to get the Frankincense, and some days Ylang Ylang too, on myself as many days as I could!!!  I still use it and still love these even though life has tamed down a wee bit. :)

I like to use the Frankincense topically and put the Ylang Ylang on my forearms as perfume. Many people like to put a drop of Joy over their heart. :)  You could certainly diffuse these as well and fill your whole house with their amazing benefits!

If you would like to get these oils for yourself, you can order a Premium Starter Kit here. Frankincense and Joy both come in the kit. Ylang Ylang is sold separately and there is a place to add additional products at the end of the process for getting the Premium Starter Kit.

As always, anyone that creates a wholesale account and orders a Premium Starter Kit receives a 450+ page Essential Oil Pocket Reference book from me as a welcome gift.

Apple Cider, Young Living Style

With the cold, cloudy, rainy-sleety-snowy weather today, a warm pick-me-up in the afternoon is perfect. Even some mornings when the cozy warmth from the wood stove hasn't quite reached all the way to the kitchen and I need something warm in my belly, I love to reach for this delicious combo.

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving Day and today feels like a perfect day to just take it a little easier as I work towards getting things ready for our relaxing day at home. After lunch and story-time (the girls were antsy and needed some snuggles), my oldest 2 helped me start making bread. After they were both tucked in for their naps I fixed myself a mug of yummy to sip on while I finished the bread and the snow fell.

I use a mug full of hot cider and add 1 drop of Young Living's Thieves Essential Oil blend and 1 drop of Young Living's Orange Essential Oil.  Stir them in and it tastes just liked spiced cider. So yummy. Even my 4 year old loves this! I do recommend stirring each time before you sip or the oil pools and the Thieves can feel hot on your lips. *You can mix up a large batch in a crockpot to serve a crowd.

Not only is this recipe delicious and easy, but it has health benefits too!  Thieves does an excellent job at supporting the immune system and Orange contains a whole slew of support for your body and mind. I love to use Orange to support mental clarity and alertness. Orange is such a happy smell it can't help but put a smile on your face and some pep in your step!

During this time of year with the extra busyness, traveling, parties, being around other people more than usual, etc. I am so thankful to have Young Living's 100% Pure, Therapeutic Grade Essential Oils to support my family's health and wellness. If you would like to as well, know that you can contact me at NaturallyOilyMama@yahoo.com for more information or any questions you may have.

Blessings,
Miriam
