Getting Fit with Young Living - NingXia Red Style!

I had our youngest child nearly 15 months ago. A lot of weight dropped off over the months following her birth like it usually does, and then when my milk supply unexpectedly dried up in December following a very emotional and physically distressing time, a few more pounds left... like it usually does for me. That left me just a little over my pre-pregnancy weight for that pregnancy. Many, many pounds from my before-children weight, and even more many pounds away from my preferred weight.

I started my journey to a healthier lifestyle after the birth of our first, whom is now 5, but regularly exercising never came back into my routine. I am not a fan of exercising, at least not any form that I have found yet, so it's easy to ignore it. However, any time I actually DO it, I am always pleased with the results and feel a sense of accomplishment.

I have long admired Myra (part of my Young Living support team, and one of the people that got me started with Young Living) and her journey to a healthier lifestyle. The girl does Crossfit... and is still doing it 24 weeks pregnant! What's not to admire?!

I have been wanting to get more physically fit for a while, and more recently have been "deciding" to do the 30 Day Shred as my jumping off point. I just hadn't actually... you know... started yet. I'm rather chicken when it comes to working out! Well, I decided enough was enough with the lollygagging and I was just going to DO IT.

I decided to work out first thing in the mornings, even before breakfast. That meant that I really needed to drink something before... but water on my empty, morning stomach is rarely a good thing. Since I love the taste AND benefits of Young Living's antioxidant-packed NingXia Red, I decided to pair 1 ounce of NingXia Red with 1 sachet of NingXia Nitro (which is GREAT for cognitive fitness!). I pour those into a glass, add a drop of Young Living's Grapefruit essential oil and top it all off with an equal amount of water. It's a delicious, healthy start to my day!

Then I add a drop of Young Living's Valor to my wrists. Truth be told, I don't looking forward to getting all hot and sweaty and sore! Valor is a combination of oils that work with both the physical and spiritual aspects of the body to increase feelings of strength, courage, and self-esteem in the face of adversity. It is perfect for preparing to work out!

I am 4 days into this new routine and am actually enjoying it! I am also feeling great all day long every day, which is really nice. :)  I am looking forward to the changes these new routines will bring about.

These are not the only Young Living essential oils or products I use and love; I will be sharing more with you in the days ahead!

Joyfully,
Miriam

  1. I'm glad that you're noticing how you are feeling the rest of the day after you work out. It is a scientific truth that working out releases endorphins in your brain that make you feel better, more energetic, and just overall happier. It also helps to wake your body and mind up in the morning and leave you feeling refreshed and ready to go. That is why it is recommended to do your workouts in the morning, instead of in the evening before going to bed. In addition, if you work out after a nights rest and before eating breakfast, you are burning better calories because you don't have any "fresh fodder" that it has to work through first. (Sorry...didn't mean to steal your platform. It's just one of my main motivators to exercise.) Also, I've noticed that it takes a while, and a routine, for workouts to become "enjoyable." Just gotta get over that hump! Good luck!!!
